How can I purchase/download files from LED Sign Studio, and what are credits?

All content on the LED Sign Studio website must be purchased through our redeemed credits system. All of LED Sign Studio's content is available for a specified amount of credits. Customers can apply their credits to make file purchases from the website. The price of credits varies according to credits packages, but credits are valued as low as $0.75 per credit for royalty-free stock. Depending on the type and size of a file you wish to purchase, stock files can range in value from 35 to 60 credits each.

Visitors to the LED Sign Studio website wishing to purchase content would first need to register for a free account, and then purchase a number of individual credits that suits their needs. For example, customers can pay-as-you-go by purchasing a selected amount of individual credits (1, 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 4,000, or 5,000 credits) in order to buy files from the site. All purchases are transacted through our safe and secure SSL encrypted site, and can be made via VISA, MasterCard, or Discover. Credits can be purchased at any time and will never expire.

Once you have found an image or animation file that you would like to purchase, click on its thumbnail to view the file's detail page. Here, the file's total cost in credits will be displayed. Select the matrix size you wish to purchase and select the "Download" button to begin the transaction. You will be taken to the billing page where you can apply your credits to the selected file and instantly have the file available to you for download.

Where did my download go?

Once you have successfully completed a download, the file will be made available on the "Download History" tab of your profile page. Here, you can view a chronological list of all your purchased files and their details. When you are ready to download the file to your computer, simply click on the "Download" button located to the right of the filename.

Depending on which browser you are using, downloads can be handled in different ways. When you select a file to download, a pop-up window should automatically appear and prompt you to save the file.

  • Internet Explorer will usually allow you to choose a location on your computer where you would like to save the file. If you do not select a location manually, your download will automatically be saved to the last location you saved a file.

  • Unless otherwise specified in your browser options, Firefox will automatically save your files to your desktop. If your browser's Downloads options are set to "Always ask me where to save downloads," a Downloads pop-up window will appear and show you the progress of your download. How often can I use the media I purchase?

All of LED Sign Studio's image and animation files are royalty-free. Once you have downloaded a file from the website, you have officially licensed the file and are free to use it as much and as often as needed for your LED sign.

To understand specific restrictions and forbidden uses of LED Sign Studio's files, please read the Licenses section on the Help page. If you still need help, please contact LED Sign Studio's administrative support at customer_service@ledsignstudio.com.

Can I buy a full-color animation for my tri-color sign?

No, not all LED signs are the same, so full-color animations will not display properly on tri-color signs. Tri-color signs only have RG (Red, Green) capability, whereas full-color signs have RGB (Red, Green, Blue) capability. It is not recommended to purchase full-color animations for your tri-color sign. Full-color signs are appropriate for displaying multi-colored text, static images, or video. Tri-color signs, on the other hand, are appropriate for displaying simple animations or text.

  • Changing/Adding text
  • Personalizing the matrix of an existing file

Customers can also request to have rush deliveries on their orders, including 1-day rush order on simple- and intermediate-level personalizations, and 2-day rush or 24-hour priority orders on advanced-level personalizations.

To order a personalization to your purchased content, start at the "Download History" tab of your profile page. Here, you can view a chronological list of all your purchased files and their details. To request a personalization order for a particular file, click on the "Request a Quote" button located to the far-right of the purchased file.

Next, a Personalization Quote page will appear, listing all the options available for personalizing the image/animation file. Complete all the information as needed and select the type of personalization you would like in the Personalization Information section of the screen. The types of personalization requests vary by complexity and price. Select the preferred turnaround date, and describe your instructions in the Personalization Instructions box. Once all the information is complete, select "Save."

ownerFAQ8

An in-house Sign Programmer will then review your request and prepare a Content Personalization Work Order. Quotes" tab of your profile page, and clicking on the "View Programmer Response" button which will appear beside any personalization request that is still pending. Personalization Work Orders will be purchased with the customer's credits. Please note that the price of a file's personalization work order is in addition to the file's original price. Once the personalized file is available in the customer's account, the Work Order is considered complete upon the customer's download of the file.

How do I earn promotional credits?

Customers can earn promotional credits by allowing their personalized content to be displayed in the "Need Ideas?" section of the selected file's detail page. By displaying examples of how files have been personalized in the "Need Ideas?" section, other customers can learn more about media basket personalizations and possibly become more encouraged to participate in this feature. By allowing your personalized content to be displayed in the "Need Ideas?" section, you will earn 5 new credits which are automatically added to your account.

You will be given the opportunity to contribute your personalization files in the "Need Ideas?" feature of the website when you accept a personalization file at check-out. Once your personalization work order is complete and the personalized file is available for your download, you will be asked to confirm acceptance of the file in the "Pers. Work Orders" tab of your profile page. Here, you can select the check box prior to accepting the file which indicates your desire to contribute the personalized file to the "Need Ideas?" feature of the website. Next, you will have the opportunity to provide your own media from which you would like the customized file to be created, such as images of your company logo or merchandise. In the section, "Upload a high resolution graphic/video to start from," you may select up to 3 of your own images or animations to be included in your custom media file.

ownerFAQ11

Next, complete the remaining "Sign Information" and "Sign Owner Information" as needed. Once all the information is complete, click the "Send" button located at the bottom of the page, and your Customization Request will be processed.

An LED Sign Studio Sign Programmer will then review your request and approve a Custom Work Order. The Programmer will first submit a quote to you; you can review this quote by visiting the "Custom Quotes" tab of your profile page, and selecting the "View Programmer Response" button located next to your pending quote. You can either accept the quote, or request it to be modified. To accept the Work Order, you and the Sign Programmer together will agree upon a price and designated turnaround date for the custom file. Once the customization is finished, it will be made available in your account. The Work Order is considered complete upon the customer's download of the file. Custom Work Orders will be purchased with the customer's credits.

What is an LED sign?

A light-emission diode (LED) display is a large electronic messaging center that uses the most efficient, long-lasting, and brightest light display available today. LED signs are composed of sets of individual LEDs grouped together, known as pixels, with a certain number of pixels per matrix, defining the matrix's resolution.

LED signs can project slide shows of graphic images, photography, and animation, and generally are placed outside of business locations. LED sign owners can customize how many images, what type of images, and what information is displayed. LED signs are considered the most effective outdoor advertising and marketing tool to attract customers to business locations. This modern form of advertising is visually eye-catching, can quickly communicate important information to potential customers passing by, can encourage sales, and promote brand identity.

If an image/animation is not available in a particular matrix, customers will have the choice to request a content personalization to have an LED Sign Studio Sign Content Designer adjust the file's size.

LED Sign Studio has several features that can help Content Contributors learn more on what potential customers are in search of. For instance, in the "Need Ideas?" tag cloud of each file's detail page, customers can view a set of the most popular personalizations requested for that particular file (including size adjustments). The tag cloud can also help Content Contributors gain insight on how their files are being used by customers, and what size(s) are most preferred. In addition, customers are able to post their questions/comments in the Discussion Forum, in which they might inquire about specific sign matrices. The Discussion Forum is a fast and easy mechanism through which Content Contributors and customers alike can instantly share information about the type of work needed. These features are designed to help Content Contributors meet the demands of their customers as an opportunity to boost their participation in the LED Sign Studio website.
